National legislation
The Act of 02 August 2002, which came into force on 01 December 2002 and has been amended by the Act of 27 July 2007, transposes into national legislation the provisions contained in Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 24 October 1995 on the protection of natural persons in respect of the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data. This Act repeals the previous amended Act of 31 March 1979 regulating the use of individual data in computerised processing (see section below entitled "legislative texts no longer in force").
