NEXUS2050

CNPD presents flagship projects

The CNPD took part in the first edition of NEXUS2050, the new flagship technology trade fair in Luxembourg, which over two days brought together more than 5,000 participants, including 70 exhibitors, 300 speakers and more than 150 start-ups on 26 and 27 June at Luxexpo The Box in Kirchberg.

On its stand, the CNPD presented its guidance and awareness-raising activities, and in particular the various tools developed to make it easier to understand and comply with the GDPR, such as the Data Protection Basics training course, the DaProLab workshops and the GDPR-CARPA certification.

The CNPD was also able to welcome Ms Stéphanie Obertin, Minister for Digitalisation, to its stand, accompanied by her advisers from the Ministry for Digitalisation and the Ministry for Research and Higher Education, as well as representatives from the State Information Technology Centre (CTIE) and the Government Commissioner for State Data Protection (CGPD).

Tine A. Larsen, President of the CNPD, presented the DAAZ tool during a "10X6" panel entitled "Re-Skilling and Up-Skilling for today's AI world". Together with Alain Herrmann, CNPD Commissioner, she gave an overview of the CNPD's new e-learning platform, explaining how people who process personal data are made aware of their obligations and responsibilities through a story with fictional characters, quizzes and other gamified interactions.

Sadia Berdaï, a legal expert at the CNPD, presented the CNPD's regulatory sandbox 'Sandkëscht', focusing on data protection and artificial intelligence. This tool enables companies to test their products or services within a pre-established framework with regard to regulatory compliance relating to the protection of personal data, and in particular the GDPR.

The event enabled CNPD staff to find out about trends and concerns in the world of technology and to make useful contacts. It was a good opportunity to meet and talk with players in the ecosystem, including representatives of companies, start-ups and public institutions.
