The CNPD attends UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence

Sadia Berdaï, head of the department ‘Artificial Intelligence, Innovation and Digital Technology’ at the CNPD, attended a closed-door session of the 3rd UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Bangkok, Thailand on 24 June. The forum is part of a new UNESCO initiative, the Global Network of AI Supervisory Authorities.

The session that Ms. Berdaï attended aimed to provide an overview of the network’s mission, objectives, and collaborative framework, highlighting the strategic benefits of membership. It also served as a platform for current members to discuss operational priorities and future directions.

The broader forum, running from 24–27 June 2025, focuses on advancing ethical AI practices following UNESCO’s 2021 Recommendation on the Ethics of AI. Co-hosted by Thailand, the event brings together global leaders, experts, and policymakers to explore key issues such as human rights, gender equality, and sustainability in AI. It builds on previous forums in Prague (2022) and Kranj (2023), aiming to foster international cooperation and drive actionable progress in ethical AI governance.
