On 9 October 2025, the CNPD was represented at Startup Fair Lithuania by Sadia Berdaï, Head of the Artificial Intelligence, Innovation, and Digital Unit. The event, organized by the AI Hub of the Innovation Agency Lithuania at the LITEXPO center in Vilnius, brought together European experts on the topic of regulatory sandboxes in artificial intelligence (AI).

In her presentation entitled “AI sandboxes in the EU,” Sadia Berdaï outlined the measures proposed by the European AI Act to support innovation while ensuring regulatory compliance. She highlighted the role of regulatory sandboxes as key instruments for promoting open dialogue between regulators and technology sector players, particularly startups developing high-risk solutions.

Lithuania took advantage of this opportunity to announce the launch of its own regulatory sandbox dedicated to AI. The CNPD, with its extensive experience in this field, was invited to share its best practices and lessons learned as part of a panel discussion that also included Romanas Zontovičius (AI Hub Lithuania) and Benediktas Girdvainis (Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation), moderated by Julija Maslinskaitė (StartUp Lithuania).
This participation illustrates the CNPD's commitment to supporting technological developments while ensuring the protection of personal data and compliance with European standards.
