Luxembourg to host the next European Case Handling Workshop (ECHW) in autumn 2026

The CNPD will organise the next edition of the European Case Handling Workshop (ECHW) in Luxembourg in autumn 2026. The workshop is dedicated to the exchange of practices and experiences relating to the handling of data protection cases and complaints.

Created following the 1999 Spring Conference in Helsinki, the ECHW brings together staff members from European data protection authorities each year in order to strengthen cooperation and operational exchanges on the application of data protection law.

Discussions focus in particular on:

  • trends observed in complaints submitted to supervisory authorities;
  • challenges encountered in case handling;
  • emerging data protection issues;
  • the sharing of best practices and operational approaches.

The 2026 edition will bring together representatives from numerous European data protection authorities as well as experts involved in operational case handling.

Hosting the next edition reflects the CNPD’s commitment to European cooperation and to strengthening exchanges between data protection authorities.

Further information regarding the dates, programme and practical arrangements will be published at a later stage on the CNPD website.
