Innovation and sustainability
STATEC's new headquarters at 12, boulevard du Jazz, features façades combining terracotta, enamelled glass and aluminium. ‘Twist’ embodies innovation and sustainability, combining architecture, technology, well-being and respect for the environment. With a total surface area of 23,100 m², the complex, organised into blocks, includes a five-storey, 8,895 m2 office building. The complex is enhanced by green spaces, an inner courtyard and terraced gardens. The ‘Twist’ building promotes well-being in the workplace and biodiversity by bringing together teaching and research.
Well-being at the heart of architectural design
The office floors offer an optimised and flexible working environment. Designed to meet the requirements of a modern statistical office, the building encourages exchanges and meetings, thanks to collaborative spaces, flexible meeting rooms, a logistics centre and state-of-the-art equipment for hybrid working. Every architectural detail, such as the large bay windows, the abundance of daylight and the use of natural materials like terracotta and wood, has been carefully thought out to create an ergonomic, comfortable and stimulating working environment. ‘TWIST is the first building in Luxembourg to be awarded WELL PLATINUM certification, a global standard focusing exclusively on health and well-being.
The Minister for the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, commented: ‘The inauguration of the “Twist” building marks a key milestone for STATEC. This new headquarters, combining innovation, sustainability and well-being, reflects our desire to create a modern, environmentally-friendly working environment. I'm particularly proud to see such an ambitious project come to fruition, with certifications that demonstrate our commitment to a greener economy and a more resilient future. This building is also a symbol of the evolution of STATEC, which will have at its disposal a working tool that will enable it to carry out its activities in a modern and respectful environment.´
An eco-responsible model
Every aspect of its design aims to reduce the ecological footprint while providing a healthy, eco-responsible living environment. The Twist building is equipped with photovoltaic panels on the roof, a rainwater collection system, high-performance reversible active false ceiling ventilation, automatically dimmed lighting and zoned monitoring for optimum thermal comfort. Currently being certified to BREEAM, the leading environmental assessment method, the building is designed to minimise environmental impact, adapt to climate change and reduce carbon emissions.
