The CNPD is proud to be taking part in the first edition of Luxembourg's TechWeek Citoyenne, which will be held from 31 March to 5 April 2025 in Esch-sur-Alzette and the surrounding area. The initiative will offer unique events providing citizens of all ages with unique opportunities to discover, learn and have fun around technology-related subjects.
CNPD officers will be taking part in 3 events:
Tuesday 1 April: ‘Tech Supreme Court Junior’ at the Town Hall in Esch-sur-Alzette, starting at 2.30pm: during a mock trial on the theme of ‘The trial of social media’, experts in social networks will come together to debate the burning issues of the moment. The CNPD expert will contribute to the debates on how these platforms are used and on their future.
Thursday 3 April: ‘TN'Teens’ at the Digital Learning Hub, with workshops starting at 8.00am, followed by a major quiz and the final with prize-giving. The CNPD will be co-organising a workshop on the subject of deceptive design in video games. These ‘dark patterns’ are being used more and more, particularly in ‘Free to Play’ games, and encourage users to spend money.
Friday 4 April: the ‘Bus Tour’ will showcase the activities and innovative projects of the EschTechWeek partners. During the stopover at the CNPD, participants will learn about the National Commission's missions and activities over a coffee and croissant.
The events are open to the general public and completely free of charge. Discover the full programme of the Citizen TechWeek and register on eschtechweek.lu!
