The National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new member to its Board. The appointment of legal expert Florent Kling marks an important step in strengthening the expertise and governance of the independent authority responsible for ensuring respect for fundamental rights in the area of personal data protection.
The new member, sworn in on 29 August 2025 by Ms Tine A. Larsen, Chair of the CNPD, will bring valuable expertise to the College in the fields of law, digital regulation and public governance. His rich and diverse professional background spanning nine years in the European and international industrial sector, is a major asset in supporting the CNPD in its missions, particularly in the context of accelerated digital transformation and the implementation of the European regulation on artificial intelligence.

Strategic strengthening of the College
This appointment is part of a drive to consolidate the CNPD's capabilities in order to meet the growing challenges of data protection in the digital age. In particular, it will enable:
- a better distribution of responsibilities within the College;
- enriching debates and decisions thanks to a greater diversity of profiles;
- strengthening support for the CNPD's monitoring, advisory and awareness-raising activities.
