International Working Group on Data Protection in Telecommunications

The International Working Group on Data Protection in Telecommunications, set up in 1983, operates within the International Conference on Privacy and Personal Data Protection.

Composition

The Working Group is composed of representatives of the national supervisory bodies, plus Government representatives and representatives of international organisations and scientific sectors.

The Working Group's Chairman is the person responsible for data protection in the City of Berlin.

Tasks and duties

The Working Group draws up proposals and recommendations on the subject of data protection in relation to telecommunications.
