In autumn 2026, the CNIL, the ICO and the CNPD published their joint study ‘From data protection to value creation in finance: data valuation, accounting, mergers and acquisitions, and governance’, bringing together analyses and best practices for businesses and financial stakeholders.
This publication sets out the key insights into the interplay between data protection and value creation within data-driven organisations.
It aims to contribute to the discussion and dialogue with economic stakeholders, the academic community and other regulatory authorities on these issues.
The findings, emerging practices and areas for consideration presented in this study are exploratory in nature. They do not constitute legal requirements, nor do they represent binding guidelines or recommendations, and are without prejudice to the application and interpretation of the relevant legal and regulatory provisions by the competent authorities.
