The criteria for participation

There are some general criteria that all Sandkëscht participants must meet. In addition, the selection will be based on the relevance of the issues addressed by the project to enable the inclusion of a wide range of organizations.

The criteria for participation are as follows:

  1. Be an established player in Luxembourg: any entity with a presence established on Luxembourg territory, regardless of its size, sector of activity or statutes.
  2. Innovation: Projects may focus on the development, integration or use of new technologies, including artificial intelligence systems.
  3. Present data protection issues: It is essential that projects benefit from their participation in the sandbox. This implies that the project directly addresses a privacy and/or data protection issue, where advice from the CNPD could be useful.
  4. Present benefits for individuals or society in general: This includes products or services offering benefits to consumers, or optimizing the use of public or corporate resources, contributes to the green transition.

In selecting participation projects, the CNPD will attach importance to highlighting issues relevant to the project, or to the use of technology and personal data, which may be useful for other organizations.

In addition, as mentioned earlier, we want to include a wide selection of participants from both the private and public sectors, as well as organizations of all sizes.

Finally, the CNPD is particularly interested in addressing issues where there is uncertainty about the interpretation and implementation of regulations, including the GDPR.
