The CNPD welcomed a delegation from the Republic of Benin to its premises on 12 February 2025 as part of a study visit by the latter to Luxembourg, which is taking place from 10 to 14 February.
The visit is part of a cooperation project between Luxembourg and the Republic of Benin, led by LUXDEV (Luxembourg Development Agency) and the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity. The aim is to support the implementation of a programme to strengthen the infrastructure and cybersecurity capabilities of Beninese institutions.
The delegation included representatives from the Agence des Systèmes d'Information et du Numérique du Benin (ASIN), the Ministère du Numérique et de la Digitalisation de la République du Bénin and LUXDEV.
The CNPD - represented by Mr Marc Lemmer, Commissioner, Mr Michel Sinner, Head of the Investigations Division, and Mr Jérôme Commodi, Project Manager - presented its missions and activities before exchanging views with Beninese experts on relevant issues in the field of data protection and cybersecurity.
The programme developed as part of the cooperation project is in line with Benin's digital development priorities, in particular the development of cybersecurity, which is emerging as a critical area in Benin's digital economy. The programme undertakes to address this challenge by giving priority to digital confidence, cybersecurity, digital financial services, professional training and the development of digital skills.
