- Amended Act of 2 August 2002 ("Data Protection Act")
Official title: Amended Act of 2 August 2002 concerning the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data.
The Act of 2 August 2002 came into force on 1 December 2002 and has been amended by the Act of 27 July 2007 and the Act of 28 July 2011. It transposed the provisions contained in Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 24 October 1995 into national legislation. This Act repealed the previous amended Act of 31 March 1979 regulating the use of individual data in computerised processing. It has been repealed by the Act of 1st August 2018 on the CNPD and the GDPR.

This is the previous version of the Amended Act of 2 August 2002. The Act was amended substantially in 1992, and most of the provisions of the 1979 Act were rendered obsolete by the new Act in 2002.
Regulations adopted in implementation of the 1979 Act remain in force, however, unless they are contrary to the provisions of the new 2002 Act or as long as they have not been replaced by new provisions

This European Directive, replaced on 12 July 2002 by Directive 2002/58/EC, was the first text specifically regulating the field of telecommunications within the Community's legal framework for data protection.

Regulation regarding amendment of the amended Grand-Ducal Regulation of 2 October 1992 regarding creation and use of a general police database containing personal data. The Regulation has been replaced by the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 22 December 2006
